We've got some old stuff, some new stuff, some cool, weird, crazy, nerdy, funny, artsy, interesting, creative stuff and everything in between. There's something for everyone at the library!

Visit the Abraham Lincoln Readers' Choice Award program page to sign up for the challenge. Read four of the nominated books on this year's list in order to participate in our voting party at the end of February.

Like competition? Try the Tomahawk Trials! We had a lot of fun last year as our tribes competed against each other to see which group could read the highest average pages per week. The competition works based on the "honor system," so if you're ready to have some good, honest competition, sign up in the library!

Do you love making fun YouTube videos? Do you wish there was an easier way to keep up with school activities and news? The SHS News group is starting up again and we're looking for students who are not afraid of being on camera, can report the news, and who love to come up with creative ideas for school-related videos. See Mrs. Kurtz ASAP if you're interested.

You might notice a new area in computer lab 145. Last year's Art IV students helped to create a space called "Cafe Livre." Students will be able to use that space before and after school for homework, snacks, or just hanging out. Mrs. Kurtz would like to get a morning coffee/tea area going in Cafe Livre, but she needs student helpers to run it. If you'd be interested in running this social area before and after school, see Mrs. Kurtz.

Media Club will be starting in September and we're kicking it off by planning a field trip that we will film and edit for classes to use in the future as a virtual field trip! We have a lot of other ideas in the works, as well. Want to help? Listen to the announcements for the first meeting date. After that, our door is always open to new members Mondays after school in lab 145.

Finally, if you're interested in forming a group that is pro-reading, pro-library, pro-community, and pro-FUN, see Mrs. Kurtz about joining the READ Club. The club was on hiatus last year, but we're looking to make a comeback. Our past activities included making book-themed door signs for teachers, volunteering at a charity 5K race and at a local nursing home, donating books to local organizations, making homemade bookmarks, hosting Abraham Lincoln Readers Choice Award book groups, and much more. If you would be interested in similar activities, as well as events such as reading books and doing activities with children and hosting literacy events at the school, see Mrs. Kurtz. :)
